Windows 10: Problem with Windows Media Player 12

I recently re-installed Win10 on my home computer system. I have a large collection of MP3 files based on the Billboard Top 100 dating back to the 1950s that I tend to listen to while I'm on the computer. However, under the new install Media Player wants to play audibly only about every other song or so. I've tried creating my usual play lists and I've tried merely dragging and dropping the files. The files seem to be playing as I can watch the progress bar advance but every other song or so is totally muted.


There are no problems with the hardware and all the drivers are up to date. There is no problem playing any other type of file with sound such as .MPGs, etc. The songs that are muted during play from a playlist will play just fine if I listen to them individually so that rules out any file corruption.


Its almost like Media Player needs to take a rest every 3 minutes or so. The thing is that it is working but without any sound output. And as soon as that song is finished, the next one plays just fine. Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

and from the last link is the same error where you can just disable it too =)

 

Faulty Windows Media Player

Windows Mesdis Player developed a fault (Played jerky an missed bits) so I down loaded Media Player 10.

It's no better. Any suggestions (I run Windows 98)

I suggest you to run both Windows Media Player Library and Settings troubleshooter and check.
