Windows 10: Problems Installing Updates 0x80080005 Windows 10 Pro

Click on Windows update, System goes round and round for a while and then says: Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: 0x80080005Ran the update troubleshoot. Didn't help.How do I troubleshoot this?

New install Windows 10 (issue solved)

It's basically what I mentioned above, small issues here and there ,but nothing to end your day.. for the most part.

I know it's anecdotal, but for my experience 95% of the time it's perfectly fine. The issues I've run into wouldn't be enough for me to roll back , but they would be enough (had I not installed it yet) ,to avoid it for another couple weeks which is why I'm suggesting it to the OP

Windows Update returns 0x80080005

Hello,

I recently realized my Windows 10 had not been upgraded since February 8th this year (2020).

Current Windows installation: Windows 10 Home | Version 1903 | OS-version 18362.592

After "searching" for updates, Windows returns error code 0x80080005. I have tried the commonly suggested solutions but to no avail.

I have tried the following

• Running the DISM tool followed by sfc /scannow (as
  described here)
• Resetting Software distribution folder (as
  described here)

None of these methods have fixed the problem.

 

Clean Windows 10 (?PRO?) install

Hello guys,

I'm planning to get a new graphics card and lets just go ahead and do a clean install aswell. Now I have bought a windows PRO key online and my running OS is windows PRO. Now I want to set up my usb to make a clean install. I wanted to use the windows tool to download the PRO version but its not in the drop down box. I have tried selecting different languages but I still couldn't find it. Now my question is, can I use my pro key on a normal windows 10? If so, my problem is solved. If not, how can I download the pro version from the tool?

UPDATE::

Apperently when the install is happening, windows will select the right version depending on the product key version. So PROBLEM SOLVED *Smile
