    Hi all,
    My son has a Lenovo ideapad 110 running Windows 10 which he uses mostly to play Minecraft. He had a friend round the other day & they were messing around with the laptop. Now he cannot login to Windows (RPC Server unavailable displayed on blue screen). In addition to this we cannot power the laptop down or get anywhere past the login screen. I am by no means an expert in these things & I am struggling to help him. We would both be happy enough to reinstall Windows at this stage even if he loses all his data & has to start again. If someone could give me an idiots guide as to how to do this it would be very much appreciated!!!

    Where do you back to?

    RPC server unavailable means the network connection that you use is not available and this can be for many reasons.

    I reset my HP Notebook pc, whic I bought recently, It has windows 10 (64 bit) Home. I have been unable to get back into computer as it comes up with the following: The RPC server is unavailable.

    I have multiple external USB devices.
    I just added another (a fourth drive) and
    the VSS stopped, causing Disk Management not to report anything about my drives and not allow me to rescan them.

    I restarted VSS and tried to rescan my drives. This resulted in "RPC Server unavailable". The service says it is running, but offers no restart. It also has all recovery options greyed out.
