    PROBLEMS WITH DIRECT X! GAMES WILL NOT LAUNCH


    When I try to launch games (through Steam) it tries to perform first time setup of direct X each time.

    Whenever I try to install anything Direct X manually it comes up with this error - error creating process appdata/local/temp/IXP000.TMP/dxsetup.exe>. REASON: INDOWS/system32\advpack.dll (No that is not a typo it says INDOWS) Some people have told me this "Indows file could be the problem.


    I would just re format my PC but the owner of my PC is not going to allow that.


    Things I've tried


    deselecting windows management instrumentation


    changing my compatibility mode


    uninstalled Razer Synapse as I've heard that it could effect this


    installed Microsoft c++ redistributes


    re installing steam


    verifying game files through Steam


    Running the game as administrator


    Running Steam as administrator


    Used C Cleaner to "Fix" registry files + full C cleaner clean


    Updating Windows


    Updating drivers


    No problems with Direct X in DXDIAG


    Restore Health


    Clean Boot


    I'm running Windows 10 with a AMD Radeon RX 560

    • Where have checked for the version of Direct x?


    I suggest you to follow the below steps and check:


    • Press Windows + R keys together.

    • Type dxdiag in the run prompt and hit enter.

    • Now check for the version of Direct x.

    This problem is all over the Warframe community forums

    Those users report that you have to re-verify your Warframe game install (via the little cogwheel settings icon on the launcher with the direct x error) and after that the game should launch . . .
