    Problems with KB5016691


    Yesterday I installed optional KB5016691.Then during a period of about 1 day, I got 3 times the following symptom that never occured before- The PC screen suddenly becomes blank as if it entered screen saver mode, but no way to go out of it- No way to interact anymore with the PC : no mouse, no keyboard the mouse is Bluetooth, the keyboard is usb- If I connect a wired USB mouse to try to get back control, the mouse led doesn't litOnly way to recover is to force a hard shut down, pressing power button 10 seconds.This morning I got again once the same issue.No blue screen, no dump file.     Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

    That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

    I suggest Option 1 is easier.

    If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

    Need some advice on computer problems.

    Run HDtune (free version) on you hard drive. but most likely that the problem. You can also test your memory with Memtest86 as suggested above
