  1. Processor is on the list of supported Windows 11 processors but Windows Upgrade says it isn't

Hi,I can't upgrade to Windows 11 because, aparently, my system does not support it. I have run the Windows PC Health Check and the only reason given is that my processor is not on the supported list. When I go to the list of supported processors there it is IntelR CoreTM i7-6700 - so what happens now? Is there a way around this? Thanks for any help anyone can give.

    :)

My processor is on the list Denis mentions

Yes, the i7-7500U is on the list of supported processors for Windows 10 20H2

What you are missing is that the Windows PC Health check is checking against the list of supported processors for Windows 11 - and yours is not on that list.

Microsoft | Windows 11 supported Intel processors

  3. Windows 10 Multi processor support

It seems that there is great speculation and guessing all over the net as to which processors windows 10 supports for multi processor xeon systems. There is nowhere, not even on Microsoft's own sites, anything that will clarify or list if windows 10 (or
which editions) support a multi processor system, up to how many physical processors (dual, quad config), what type of processors and if all physical and logical processors are supported and recognized.

I consider this a very big omission on behalf of Microsoft as there are a lot of us out there who do use multi processor systems for our work and would like to know whether to upgrade or not. If there is a list or table that outlines the supported multi
cpu config of the different windows 10 edition, somewhere out there, can someone please point us to that direction.

    Thank you.

FYI, the Windows 11 Forums are live and well *Wink

@TenGetsYou5, though the checker correctly listed the 17-7500U as unsupported, you can still install the OS as it's still in beta form. However, as noted come October, things may change, and you may be required to revert back to Windows 10. For that reason, you may want to created a Windows 10 image "before" upgrading to 11.

That said, I'm currently running Windows 11 on both a laptop (i7-7600U) and desktop (i7-7700K) running i7 processors.

    Good luck *Smile
