Windows 10: Product key

Hello there. I have had a laptop for like 7 years or something with windows 7 Home Prem installed. I had bought it and it was quite expensive to be honest so I'm trying to avoid buying it again. So, the thing is, the laptop is quite old and I am trying to build a pc. The OS I want on this pc will be windows but I need my old key product. The problem is that the old laptop recently stopped working and I can't get in and check what the key product of the windows was. I also had a sticker at the back of the laptop where is says "product key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-....." i am missing the last digits because the sticker has been there for a while as you understand and it has been ruined. I can provide pictures if needed. Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Where is my Product Key if I want to re-install?


Like davidhk said. But if you really want to see your windows key, I would suggest Belarc advisor. It will give you some useful information about your system, product keys of your software is among them (not only Microsoft, you will have listed most of your keys).

 

i know the product id but forget the product key

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.
