    Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste this command:
    type %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts >> "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\hosts.txt"

    Please post the txt file into the thread.

    The 1 TB drive is failing and you are at high risk of a boot failure.
    So ASAP back up your files onto another drive or into the cloud.

    There were many problems with the drive noted in the event log.


    There were many BSOD in the logs.
    When you replace the drive you will replace the drivers so all hardware and software drivers will be replaced.
    Hardware can also cause BSOD.
    The RAM have different model numbers.
    So while you are shopping for another drive run a test on the RAM.

    Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.

    This may take many hours so plan to run it overnight.

    When Memtest86+ has completed 8 or more passes use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

    I put the macrorit on a usb stick downloaded and unzipped from another computer but when i try and open it I get the msi.dll error message. I copied and pasted type %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts >> "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop\hosts.txt" into the command prompt but nothing happened

    MAcrium Reflect will not help you as your disk is failing.
    When you try to create in image, it will most likely fail reading your disk, with a CRC error.

    The time to create an image is when your disk is sound.

    What you need to do, as I said before, is to make your best efforts to copy any personal data off your disk onto another, unless you have already done the wise thing and made sure you have good backups.

    You have three ways to do that:
    a. Boot your PC as at present, connect a USB disk, copy files to that
    b. If your PC becomes unbootable
    i. Use a boot disk such as Kyhi's (from the top of the Software and Apps section here: boot your PC from that and so copy files to a USB disk.
    ii. Take your disk out and connect it to a good PC and copy the files off it.

    I managed to get a different program and create a disc image, I bought a new hard drive and put the image on it and I still have all the problems, I have tried removing windows updates but it comes up with a message saying it can't find them, it also said that on the other disc, I have attached a picture of the crystal disk info for the new drive.

    Was it an image or a clone?

    The desktop should have files. Use a one drive or drop box share link to post the files into the thread.



    1) Open administrative command prompt and run chkdsk /x /f /r
    2) Post the chkdsk /x /f /r result into the thread using the information in this link:

    3) Run Sea tools for windows on your drive using SMART, short and long generic tests:

    Post images of the test results into the thread.

    4) Create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10

    5) Perform an in place upgrade repair using the Windows 10 iso
    Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Installation Upgrade Tutorials

    6) Post a URL into the thread for the Toshiba website for your computer's configuration and operating system.

    7) When the memtest86+ version 5.01 has completed 8 or more passes as per post #17 please use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.

    8) Uninstall Iorbit Advanced System Care

    9) Uninstall bitdefender
    Uninstall Bitdefender

    10) Turn on Windows defender

    sfclogs.txtFinally was able to do an sfc scannow, and here are the results. I can't do the memtest86+ as I get the error report. I created the windows iso file and tried to do the repair but it came up with an error message that said "Modern Setup Host has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I did the seagate scan but the screenshots won't load up, all the tests passed. I tried to do the chkdsk but it comes up with error 87. I have uninstalled advantage system care and bitdefender. Windows defender has done a scan and say there are no problems
