Windows 10: Prolific driver.

Hey. Got a new scanner. Installed my prolific driverlatest one available. When I go to davice manager and try to update my cable driver to prolific, Windows just displays a blue screen and says that a error has occured and the computer will restart soon.

Any help?

Windows 10 Prolific USB-RS232 Driver Issue

I understand your concern, and we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

I suggest you to go to the manufacturer’s website of your
Prolific RS232-USB driver and check for any updated drivers available there. If so, try to install them and check if it fix the issue.

If the issue persist or if no updated drivers available then try installing the available drivers i.e. Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 drivers in compatibility mode.

Follow the steps below on how to install driver in
compatibility mode:

1. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

2. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
“Properties”.

3. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

4. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and select operating system from the drop down list.

5. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

Prolific USB-Serial


I've previously had this working on my system but, for whatever reason, it's no longer being recognised by my mapping software when I attempt to transfer routes to my GPS.

As you can see the driver is installed but with an exclamation mark to indicate a problem.

Searching automatically for an update does not work & when I manually select the driver that I have, it comes with the comment that the correct driver is installed - but still not working.





Any suggestions or comment appreciated.

 

Prolific USB to serial driver PL2303 won't work with Windows 10

I use a Garmin etrex GPS with a RS 232 serial socket and after installing the Prolific USB to serial driver with Windows 7, my e-map application, Memory Map connected with my GPS. After changing to Windows 10, Memory Map could not find my GPS, so I uninstalled
the old driver downloaded & installed version 1.12.0 of the Prolific driver which works with Windows 10. I can see the driver on the list of software shown under the install/remove window of the Control Panel. The USB to Serial Comm Port (3) is shown under
devices, but when I click on it I get 'driver error', needs troubleshooting message. Can anyone tell me what the problem is please?
