Windows 10: ps4 controller says connected but can’t do anything in a game?

i’m trying to be able to use my ps4 controller to play games on my pc, and i can go into bluetooth and connect it just fine, but when i open a game, i can’t use it? also, it seems like it works if i connect the two with a micro usb cable, but it immediately stops working if i take the controller off the cable? ds4 windows doesn’t seem to detect my controller either

PS4 Controller (bluetooth) connection issues

My PS4 controller, which worked perfectly fine with my laptop until today, now won't connect properly. I try to connect the controller, and the controller just turns off. On my laptop it says the controller is connected, but the controller is obviously not.

My drivers are all updated.

I've already tried basic steps like restarting the computer.

What should I do?

 

Unable to connect PS4 controller to PC

I play video games regularly and I use a ps4 controller to play them. I use a bluetooth usb adapter to connect the ps4 controller to my pc, however, I always have to go into settings, click " remove device" from the pc, then connect with bluetooth and type
in the four digit pin which is 0000. I tried using the "windows key + a" shortcut to open the menu with all the connection options then click connect. When I click connect nothing shows up even though my controller is on pairing mode. Is there a fix for this
issue?

PS4 Controller not connecting to anything

Hi, so after I got a new computer with windows already installed on it, I haven't been able to connect the controller at all, before, it would just show an orange light continuously and any of the programs that I would use for the controller such as Steam
or any other game would not recognize the controller, after tinkering with it a bit, i found that I don't even have something called libusb-win32, I tried tinkering around with that, as well as DS4Windows, which wouldn't even see my controller anyway, after
nothing worked, I compared it to another laptop in the house, which seemed to read the controller just fine, Steam and other games would see it as well, so, when I looked at the drivers the laptop had I saw that it has no drivers, so I tinkered even more and
I got to the point where the drivers were missing and instead of a game controller it went to a HID usb device with no drivers. Now, whenever I connected it, the controller didn't register as being plugged in, there was no light, nothing, if I pressed the
button to connect to the PS4 (the home button) it would just keep flashing white, trying to connect to the PS4, then I read a post that said that I could add a new driver for my HID usb device and make it back to a game controller, I did that but still no
response both from my controller and the computer, going on Steam and recovering Steam Firmware Controller doesn't help either, I'm at a dead end and I have no options, I tried mostly everything. To summarize, I probably don't have the right drivers, or don't
have drivers at all for the PS4 but I can't find them anywhere, everything says to download DS4Windows which doesn't do anything for me.
