Is this the Right Wattage for a PSU for Gaming?


I think I made a mistake in buying a PSU with 750 watts for my gaming PC with Nvidia 1080. I think I should've bought one with 850 or 1000 watts. The reason being is that I calculated the necessary power according to my parts through newegg's power calculator. It spit out an output of 789 watts. Since I got a PSU of 750 watts, I don't think this will cut it.

What do you think? Should I return this PSU in exchange for a 850 or 1000 watt PSU?

Office And Light Gaming Build

There's nothing wrong with the build, but I have some suggestions to, IMHO, make it better:

• You list a 550 watt PSU, but you have a 51 watt CPU and a GPU that pulls 120 watts at the max. In other words, your system will pull under 200 watts at maximum load, which it sounds like will be rarely. PSU's are most efficient between 50-80%, and even at max load, this system won't reach 50%. Suggest a PSU 400 watts or less, like the Seasonic G-360.
• RAM's really cheap. Suggest getting 16 GB instead.

This Acer has been a good machine. Never any problems with it. A PSU isn't that expensive.

Yes, it's a standard 250 watt PSU. Have been thinking about upgrading and installing a video card for more dedicated memory and to multi monitor. Wanting to get a touch screen. One of the reasons why I bought this Acer at the time was that it is expandable. And luckily 8.x ran great on it. From what I've read, 10 will also.

Therefore, I will probably get a higher watt PSU to do so, yes? I'll have to research these peripherals to see how big. Any suggestions are welcome.
