Windows 10: Purchased a product key that doesnt work

I need some help, I purchased a windows 10 Home product key from the microsoft website. Then i installed windows 10, and when i try to change the product key, it says "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. 0xc004f050"


The version I was using prior to installing was Windows 7 Enterprise. This might be a mistake on my end, can I even change the key to a Home one? I'm not sure. Help and other forums has gotten me nowhere. I spent $200 on this product key, for it not to work.

I've tried reinstalling, clearing space, all to no avail.


If there is no way to change the key, would I be able to get a refund?

No product key after Windows 10 purchase

• How did you upgrade to windows 10?
• Have you done clean install?
• Are you getting any error message?
• From where have you purchased the Windows 10?

If you have purchased from online Microsoft store or any store I suggest you to contact them for the product key.

Product Key doesnt work!

I bought a PC and the guy told me i would have to buy a product key for windows. I used the microsoft website to buy a windows 10 key and the key doesnt work!! it keeps giving me this error message (0xc004f050). I didnt let anyone see it, i didnt let anyone
else read the email i got with the Key. as soon as i got it i put it in the field on the settings in my computer and it immediately gave me that error. I dont know who to contact or what to do! its not a used key because it never gave me anything except for
that error!

 

My Product Key

I have hit another roadblock in my marathon two-day attempt to restore the laptop that Windows 10 destroyed. I do not have the product key for the device, so cannot even revert to Windows 8.1. The product key is not shown in the Amazon purchase listing for the device, and I long ago lost the paperwork. Is there any way I can look it up (keeping in mind of course that the device itself is utterly unusable in its current state)?
