Windows 10: Query re activation

I have installed for the second time the preview and ran updates but the build remains as 10070 or something like that - anyone know what the dickens is going on because my desktop updated to the 102** build and self activated.

The other thing is I am now being asked for an activation code and cannot find the email they sent me with three activation codes on it. I have now spent 14 hours installing 10 yesterday and and another 2 hours on the phone support line this morning which keeps giving me a disconnected number.

Can someone please advise me what to do about this very sad state of affairs because I am getting to like the 10 but if necessary I will swap my 7 drive back in*sarc

after installing free windows 10 upgrade do we have to buy a license key for it??????

 

How did you do the install? Did you use an ISO and if so where did you get it. Sounds like it is a fairly backlevel build.

 

Yes Z I downloaded and saved the ISO from an email from Microsoft when I enlisted as an insider and that also quoted three activation codes.
I burnt the downloaded ISO to a disk tried the install on my Sandy Bridge - it took about three goes to get it to download any updates - finally downloading the last build and it is telling me it is activated, and it is running reasonably smoothly.

Now the desktop is at my place and when I got home yesterday tried the same method - that is upgrading the 7 to 10 as I didn't want to lose my data etc but it just will not let me update to the last build.

Now as a another little annoyance Toshiba do not do a Blu tooth driver for 10 because stupid me thought the old OS driver would work and I do dislike wired or those breakable dongles one has to use with wireless. I have tried pairing but the mouse gets fed up with waiting but that us just a side issue. I just want this machine up and running before I go back to my partners place (30th).

I am only wanting to get going because I am getting quite used to using the 10 now.
