  1. Question about partition on my main drive

    Intel® SSD 730 Series (240GB, 2.5in SATA 6Gb/s, 20nm, MLC)
    Intel® Solid-State Drive 730 Series Specification
    http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...ries-spec.html

“Intel's SSDs use 7% of the total capacity of the drive for overprovisioning.
For a 240 Gb drive that amounts to 16.8 Gb.
All of which would be invisible to the user.”
Thank you very much for that information. I wasn’t aware that overprovisioning is a standard on Intel SSD’s.
The Intel® Solid-State Drive 730 Series Specification specifications do not include that information that I can tell.
I do not have a problem with overprovisioning being a standard part of an SSD operation
The next time I purchase an SSD I’m going to ask about it as I’d like to know whether or not overprovisioning is a standard in today’s world.

”So, my guess is that that partition Macrium shows is just unallocated space.”
--- On the 450MB blank partition it isn’t known why it’s unallocated.
--- Fortunately it isn’t a big deal but I know I would inquire about it if it were my SSD

On the computer’s disk management, it was already questioned in prior posts and I thought I was following along with it.

I have seen an unallocated partition reported by MR and it was labeled as unallocated instead of just being a blank partition.
--- In that case Win10 was cloned from the original 160GB HDD to a 250GB SSD and the unallocated partition was a natural result with an intervening partition and was reported as such.
--- I told my friend it can be merged with a 3rd party paid program
--- I’ve read that he could delete the intervening partition but I'd have to investigate that further before I would that.
--- Since the computer runs good, he’s leaving it alone
But for this part it could become a thread of it’s own if the user wants to address it.

The 449.6 mb shows up as unallocated as mentioned, in disk management. Thanks very much for all the help folks! *Smile
