Windows 10: Question about WinRAR

So I have this zip file that's 166gb and there's 6 folders in it I've extracted 5 out of the 6 folders. I have no room to extract the last folder. So what I'm trying to do is delete the 5 folders I've already extracted form the zip. But when I open the zip and select the 5 folders and click delete. It starts copying all the files. My question is why is it copying the files when all I'm trying to do is just delete the folders/files? Can someone help and explain to me why it's copying and not deleting? My thought process is since I have to more room to extract the last folder from the zip. I would open the zip and delete the 5 folders I've already extracted. That way the zip would be much smaller that way I can extract the last folder.

.rar file to winRAR

Do you have WinRAR installed on your PC?

If so: right click a RAR, choose 'Open With' - Choose Another App

Important - Check the box marked 'Always use this app to open rar . . .'

If WinRAR is not in the list, scroll to the bottom and click 'More Apps'

Again if WinRAR is not in the list, at the bottom, click 'Look for another app on this PC', then navigate to find the WinRAR executable . . .
