Question Regarding the Win 10 Update Process

    Hello,

When downloading and installing a Win 10 update (in this case, Win 10 Cumulative Update KB4462919 for Version 1803), what is the sequence of events that are supposed to occur? To clarify, right now my computer is in the process of attempting to install this update and when I look at the real time status, it's going through this mini-sequence where it downloads the update, gives me a "Pending Install" status, starts installing it (where it usually gets up to 25 percent or so at which point it jumps to 100) and then repeats the process all over again (after spending some time with the "Initializing" status. Is this what it is supposed to do, or is it essentially caught in some kind of loop where it is downloading and installing the same part of the update over and over again. I would really appreciate some kind of guidance about this. Thanks.

    :)

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Question Regarding the Win 10 Update Process :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
