Windows 10: Questions about YourPhone

I may be in the wrong place. If so, tell me the right place and I'll repost it there. "Ease of Access" sounds as good as anything.My wife can't use a touchscreen complicated nerve damage in her hands and therefore can't use any modern cell phones, only very basic G3 models which are all but obsolete. She also can't hold a telephone while it's ringing or vibrating, or answer it even if she could hold it. I've been reading about the Your Phone app, but I don't quite understand a few things.1. Can you dial a phone number from a PC using YourPhone?2. Can you select a phone number and send text m

YourPhone Issue / Question

I love using the YourPhone app because I can actually type from my keyboard. But here is my issue...

In group texts, it does not display the name of the person who sent the message. All it displays is a phone number. And to top that, it displays the same number for every text. The names of the group members are at the top.

Is there something I need to set up differently, or am I doing something wrong? Or is this the way that YourPhone works?

 

My Moto G7 won't connect for calls in YourPhone

I have a MotoG7 Android phone. I have linked it to my Windows 10 Laptop (HP Z-Book) via YourPhone. This has been successful insofar as Notifications work, I can send and receive SMS, and see my photos.

I now want to be able to use it to make and receive calls, but I cannot get it to connect. It stays stuck on the following screen.





Yes, my phone is nearby and Bluetooth is on. If I turn off Bluetooth, or disconnect YourPhone, the message changes immediately to "We weren't able to connect to your phone".

My laptop is listed as a paired device by my phone, and vice-versa. I use a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, both or which are working properly.

I've tried;

• disabling and re-enabling Bluetooth
• forgetting and re-pairing my phone from my laptop, and vice versa
• uninstalling and re-installing YourPhone on both my laptop and phone
• unlinking and relinking my phone to my account
• Turning it off and then on again (in other words restarting both laptop and phone)
• All of the above (ie starting, as far as I can tell, from a clean sheet)

As I've mentioned, the rest of YourPhone works perfectly, just calls.

Can anyone help?

 

Can't connect audio from Samsung S10 to PC via Your Phone

I've been having this same exact problem. For me, I can switch on the "Calls" button, but if I try to switch on the audio button, it immediately switches back to "Off" and says it can't connect.

Questions:

• Have you updated the YourPhone app in the Microsoft Store on your desktop?
• Have you checked for an update for "Link to Windows" in the Google Play Store?
  
• Are you part of the YourPhone beta progam in the Play Store?
• Do you have firewalls or adblockers running on either of the devices?

I'm trying to troubleshoot to the bottom of this, and it might be helpful to find some commonalities between us. My next step will be to reset the YourPhone desktop app + possibly reset the Windows Store altogether. I'm not sure if the problem is on the
PC's side or the phone's side.
