Windows 10: questions and solution to :tts voice not working. this applies to windows 10 any editions

question: how come the tts voice don't work? (how to start reinstalling the language pack in windows 10

solutions: 1.first of click start button then click the settings icon

2. then click time and language then language on the side of the settings.

3. click what language you are having trouble with and delete the language pack you have already have installed.(or add a language if you like)

4. go ahead and uninstall the language pack you have installed on your system.( note that this will not delete the current display language on the computer,will not mess up that language you have) (please be patient as windows downloads the pack to your computer)

5. now that the language pack is gone, it's time now to reinstall the language you had on the computer.

6. now in that same settings menu click add a language, select the language you want and it will install.

7. after that try to see if your voice reads now in the adobe acrobat reader.

note this is the steps i did and it resolved this problem. i am a a+ technician who took a class for the repair and also i am in college. thank you so much for reading have a great day guys take care.

Use mobile TTS voices as desktop TTS voices

Recently I've been trying to set my Windows 10 TTS in japanese.

I've already downloaded Japanese language pack.

It seems that the TTS voices appearing in Windows 10 "Settings" app don't match the ones appearing in the "Speech Properties" windows (which is findable in Control panel).

Windows 10 (mine, at least) actually uses the voice set up in Speech Properties, and doesn't really use the Setting app setup.

I'd like to set my TTS voice to Ayumi, yet Ayumi isn't a choice in Speech Properties (see the screenshot below).

That said, I have to questions:

1 - What is the difference between those two settings, and why don't they feature the same voice?

2 - What can I do to set Ayumi Mobile as my actual TTS voice (in Speech Properties).

Please note that Ayumi is already set as my TTS voice in Settings app, but as I said above, Windows 10 doesn't seem to care about these settings.

Is it possible to change Cortana's TTS voice?


Is it possible to change Cortana's TTS voice to something from a different TTS voice provider such as, for example, IVONA? Alternatively would it be possible to morph the voice somehow, so it sounds different, kind of like those voice changer programs that people typically use on their own voices?

Unfortunately, the links you provided are explaining how to use TTS in programs and code, but there's not much about how to modify the TTS voice in general.

As for my Windows version, I keep it up-to-date and do every update I have. The last update was on 12/9/2016, and I have another one scheduled for tonight.

EDIT: Nothing changed after the update.
