Windows 10: Quick Look

Windows 10 won't let me choose Quick Look as the default photo viewer. The app doesn't work in Photoshop and it isn't listed among the apps to choose from in settings>default apps. I just migrated from Mac OS and their Preview app has automatic spacebar enlargement, fullscreen mode, key zoom, works in Photoshop, and displays 3d objects in 3d space--Quick Look only seems to have spacebar viewing and it takes a few seconds to show a focused image instead of a low-rez preview. Is there a Windows app or setting that allows this? This is basic functionality in my work, where I'm sorting through both 3d objects and image files and don't have time to open objects in 3d programs, even lightweights like MeshLab. Also, Photos doesn't seem to recognize .nef files, which is the basic Nikon RAW format, although Quick Look does. That seems weird. How do I fix that?


I did searches on what to use to replace Preview when switching to Windows, since it's a vital part of my workflow. None of the recommendations seem to work anywhere near as well as Preview. am I missing something?


I'm on an Acer Predator G9-763 laptop with 16 GB memory and an Nvidia 1070 GPU, 1TB hard drive and 250 GB SSD.

Remove items from Quick access.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Right click on the file or folder.
• Select the option “unpin from the quick access”

To pin items to an item already on the quick access bar.

Follow the below steps.

I would suggest you to create folder in the desktop screen & place all the files or folder which need to pin to the quick access.

• Open the quick access.
• Select the Desktop option.
• Right click on the folder & select the option “pin to quick access”
