    Radom PC freezes

    Hello~~
Running windows 10 pro (+last updates), getting PC freezes all the time, no matter what i do playing/working/browsing network/watching smth... They just happens. Screen frezees, sound disappears and reboot button is only the way. Sometimes PC can run for a few days without any freezs, but sometimes they happening in 10-20 min after booting. For example, playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst (Close beta) giving me freeze every 20-40min. Black Desert Online every 1-8 hours. Working in Visual studio giving me freez in 10 hours... sometimes less.

    Things, what i already did:
    memtest scan: No Errors.
    win chkdsk: No issues.
WDC hdd tools (Quick/Long Test): No errors. (HDDs status health status: good)
    Stress test AIDA64: Passed fine.

    Max temperatures:
Stress test: CPU 72C, MB 55C, GPU 78C
While Gaming: CPU 55C, MB 52C, GPU 68C
    Idle: CPU 36C, MB 42C, GPU 30C

    PS: Reinstalling windows wont help.

    Any suggestion/ideas?
Making a image of my HDD via Acronics and port it to another HDD would help(imo problems with hdd's)?

    Thanks~~

*** Posting here cos before this i had BSODs, alot of them, but around month ago they disappeared.

    :)

    radom shutdown

    Hi,

To better assist you regarding your concern, we would like to ask some questions:

    • Are there any changes made prior to the issue?
    • What application are you using when it shuts down?
    • Have you checked if the said application is compatible with Windows 10?

We're looking forward to your response.

Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

If your key is a retail key you should first uninstall the key and then use it on the new mainboard. There could sometimes occur problems when someone tries this, but then there is phone activation.
A new mainboard is practically a new system, for Microsoft, which is why you got the activation problem.

To uninstall a key: Product Key - Uninstall to Deactivate Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    Oh, Thank you. But..
I upgraded from win8 to win10, then i checked my product key and made a fresh install of win10. Used that key to activate win10. A month later i changed motherboard, and that problem appeared. In my case this will work?

I can't say if it'll work, I'm no activation expert, but I've read similar cases where the issue was resolved by phone activation wherein they explained the issue.
If I were you I would create a new thread at Windows Updates and Activation - Windows 10 Forums for advice about this.

m-kay, Microsoft phone support helped me o.o/

If anyone interested: if ur windows build 1511, u can active ur windows10 by using ur win 8/win8.1 key. But as they said it works till 29 june if i'm not wrong. After it wont work.

Sooo, what about my freezing-breezing problem? New dm-log report below ¬

(Right now using 3HDDs only, 2x 1tb WD Blue, and notebook ones ST 500gb also still with 1 videocard, disconnected most of devices)

Not entirely correct, if you activate using a key from Windows 8.1/7 a digital entitlement is saved on the servers of Microsoft making it possible to use the same key again when it is necessary even after the 'deadline'. The digital entitlement registers the hardware you use on the servers of Microsoft making it possible to install all over again without a key requirement. Only if you change the motherboard you would have to get a new activation.

Warning Programs that claim to update your drivers install either the wrong or corrupted drivers.
If you have installed any driver with Driver Booster 3, please remove them as it may cause trouble.
It is recommended to use a restore point prior the use of it.

In most cases they don't leave any kind of log behind except for an event id 41 indicating a power issue, this is because the system cannot save anything as it cannot respond. The exact same is with a shutdown/restart crash.
As they usually don't leave much behind it is very difficult to find out what it could be as there are way too much possibilities.
    For example:
    • A damaged CPU, thermal paste improper
    • Overheating,
    • Improper seating of any component (CPU, RAM, GPU, etc.),
    • The PSU is defective or a cable is loose,
    • A cable of the hard drives is loose or damaged,
    • Dust,
    • Cable in the wrong connection or damaged connection,
    • RAM faulty or need cleaning,
    • RAM slot need cleaning or is faulty,
    • The GPU damaged,
    • A connected device is giving problems somehow, the port of the device is damaged, the drivers of the device is causing problems, the port where the device is connected on is causing problems,
    • Mouse or keyboard giving problems,
    • Improper cooling, different from overheating as it can lead to overheating but isn't that far yet,
    • 3.3v, 5v and 12v are improper,
    • The motherboard is having problems somewhere or somehow,
    • A driver is improper coded or corrupted, or there is a bug,
    • A registry corruption,
    • Malware.
These are just a few possibilities of all that is possible, it could also be a corrupted installation of software or driver conflict or whatever one can think of.

    Thanks for respond!

About activation, well that's what their support told me (maybe i missed smth). They said i should press change key in settings, and told me to enter my win8 key. I did it and wow my win10 got activated.

    Hmmm....
I used driver booster just a few days ago to check is drivers up to date. Problem with freezing appeared month earlier.

    1) Damaged cpu, this for sure no. i have FX6200 CPU, same problem. Also CPU are new. Brought 3 months ago.
    2) I have PC laying on table without case, also i monitoring temperature all the time, so most likely no.
    3) Dont think so, but i'll try to "re-build" everything again + will do additional cleaning.
    4) PSU is new, 2months. Also i have 2 more PSU's, Epsilon 900W and HiPro 1000W, tried both. same problem
    5) Tried to change cables many times. Didnt helped
    6) Well i keeping it clean all ze time.
    7) Dont think so, im not that bad o.o
    8) Ram passed alot of memtests, everything fine and it's new too.
    9) ^
    10) GPU hmm, i used quard sli before, had same problem, i can try to swap cards 1by1. Will report u later.
11,12) Hmmmmm, this keyboard and mice was used on other pc's everything was fine. but u gave me idea. i'll use only PS2 kb and 1 mouse. maybe it will help. Will disconnect all other devices.
    13) Using liquid cooling on cpu. I think everything fine. but i have air collers aswell, so if needed i can change to air. Should i? (tbh dont really understand what u mean)
    14) What do u mean ? Radom PC freezes o_O How's voltage can be improper <.< But hmm if it helps i can post u a screen from AIDA with voltages.
    15) Motherboard are new. But uhmm well, everything happens... idk there is no way to check it, right? (i have 1 more, but again windows re-install? q.q)
    16) yesterday replaced all drivers, also updated AHCI driver from microsoft ones to AMD AHCI. Dint helped.
    17) Registry corruption can effect so hard? Radom PC freezes o_O well is there any way to check it?
    18) Checked manytimes with different tools. If u want, i can install malwarebytes, make scan and post result.

~~ Most of PC parts are new. Except videocards and some WD HDD's. Also i have alot pc parts so i can test some things if it will be needed.

FYI, just because a component is new doesn't mean it isn't the problem.

Voltages can be too high or too low, this gives either too much power or not enough causing the components to not function proper.

The only way to check a motherboard properly is to replace it.

Replacing a driver or reinstalling one doesn't rule out bugs, only corrupted onces.

The registry is the database of Windows, if something goes wrong it can cause the system to not boot at all depending on what is wrong. Without the registry Windows can't boot as Windows wouldn't know what to do or where to start.
Depending on the corruption registry corruption can cause so many problems.

Doesn't matter, driver update programs, in my experience, only make things worse!

  14. KonekoTia Win User
Yeah but but... what to do q.q?

Should i post voltages screen here?

Replacing is problem x.x i have to work somewhere.

Yeah agree but at least we know there no corrupted ones xP

Registry... Same question: what to do X.X

About driver update programs, yeah fully agred, but when u almost gived up with problem u trying all ways. That's why i have it q.q
But i didnt installed any drivers with it so ^.- i think im fine

Replaced video card and disconnected all usb devices for now, Testing.

In the BIOS lookup and the 3.3v, 5v and 12v values and post them in your next reply.

With the registry it can be due to some reasons so we'll have to do some diagnostics tests.

    Radom PC freezes [IMG]
    Diagnostics Test
    Radom PC freezes [IMG]
    System File Check
    Please try following:
    • Open an admin command prompt
    • Copy/paste "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore&DISM /Online Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth&sfc/scannow&DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" (without quotes) and press enter
    • When it finished reboot your system
    • Open again an admin command prompt
    • Enter sfc/scannow again
If sfc/scannow says "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" after the second SFC, please upload the cbs.log file located at %systemroot%\Logs\CBS\, if the file is too large try a 3rd party uploader like dropbox, onedrive, google drive, mediafire etc.
System File Check(SFC a.k.a. Windows Resource Protection) needs to have your system rebooted in order for sfc to try to fix the problems that it finds.
NOTE: this could take up to a few hours and sometimes may look like it is freezing, just let it run and do not open anything or use anything else to decrease the change of a random system freeze + make sure as less as possible is connected while this is going.

Make a screenshot of command prompt when this is finished and post it.
