    RAM used by Windows 10

I am using a Dell OptiPlex 3050 AIO with 4 GB RAM running on a 64 bit Windows 10 Home Single Language OS 2004 Version, which I have been given to understand is the latest.

Whilst checking the Processes Tab of the Task Manager, I observe that with just the Firefox Browser running almost 85% of the memory is used. Firefox consumes around 940 MB of the RAM.

According to posts in this community, Windows 10 OS uses around 2 GB RAM, whereas the Dell service engineer I spoke with last week mentioned that the OS itself uses up around 3 GB of the RAM.

I would like to know which of the two figures is correct because the performance of the system becoming an issue for me.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
