    Ran Offline Virus Scan, Can Find No Results of Scan


    Windows 10 Pro:


    Tried running an offline scan today on a newly-built PC. When I returned I found Windows had booted to the desktop but there was no 'results' report on what offline scan had found or didn't find.


    How do I get the results of an offline scan?

    Defender Periodic Scanning or Offline Scanning?


    That link does suggest it's useful to use Defender offline scanning in addition to periodic scanning and a third party real time anti virus (e.g. Kaspersky).

    Virus Scan ONLY tool?

    I was using Malwarebytes to run scans on things I downloaded to make sure they're clean before I run them... but now Malwarebytes wants to run constantly and wants to do virus scans all the time, even though I told it not to (I'll scan a single file then it starts another threat scan on its own).

    Are there any good tools that do virus scanning only?

    Windows Defender Offline Scan

    I have attempted to run a WD offline scan to correct a malware or spyware issue, during the restart a restore / backup option was displayed with no available backups in the list. Why am I seeing this error? A side note, the offline scan never ran, jst
    the prompt for the backup/recovery. Thanks for any assistance.
