Windows 10: Random Computer Crashes / Resets?

So I recently upgraded to a RTX 3070 from a 1660 ti. Ever since then I have been having random crashes that sometimes occur when playing games, attending Zoom meetings, or even while my computer is casually idiling. Sometimes the crash happens and the PC restarts, sometimes it full crashes and i cant force pc to turn off through power button i have to use the PSU switch. In event viewer this is being logged as a Kernel Power issue. The first time i noticed this I replaced my 600w 80+ bronze with a 750w 80+ gold. The problem is still occurring at basically the same rate. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?


Things I have tried:


1 Replacing old PSU


2 Replacing old Ram 2 occurrences of crashes where my mobo had a solid orange light meaning ram failure


3 Reinstalling and updating every driver


4 Updating Bios


5 Lowering Power Usage on the GPU itself


6 Monitoring Temps both CPU and GPU temps are fine


7 DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth


8 Checking the health of my ssd through Samsung Magician its healthy


9 Changing ram profile to allow overclocking ram to speed of 3200, then reverting it back to 2133 because it still happened

Random crashes on new computer

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Followed all steps and haven't received a crash yet but as I said before, its random.

NZXT CAM O.C. was never used but I use it for lighting and fan regulation.
I have OCCT installed but have never even launched it.
I've overclocked slightly on AORUS Engine but reset to default / silent mode for testing here.
Ryzen 5 is also slightly overclocked (one click UEFI optimal setting @ 3800)

Furmark overclock seemed quite stable at 68C which is fairly normal at that GPU usage.

 

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.
