  1. Random Computer Restarts

Hi, I am having an issue with a newly built machine.

It is restarting randomly, but usually once per day, and usually just a few minutes after I start using it. Then it is running smooth for the rest of the day without any issues. It is usually simply restarting, but now it gave a blue screen, so I am attaching a bit more information:

    The pc specs are:

    Computer name: DESKTOP-DE86Q64
    Windows version: Windows 10 , 10.0, build: 18363
    Windows dir: C:\Windows
    Hardware: ASRock, Z390 Taichi Ultimate
    CPU: GenuineIntel IntelR CoreTM i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz Intel8664, level: 6
16 logical processors, active mask: 65535
    RAM: 68633149440 bytes 63.9GB

I tried memtest - 3 hours of running memory corruption checks, complete free. The PSU is 850W, as far as I can tell everything is connected. The temperature of the PC does not exceed 70 degrees under heavy load and about 45 in idle, so not overheating either.

One think that was weird was that it has a 10GBp lan card that about 2 weeks ago stopped working after one random restart and I suspect that its drivers could be corrupted, but I switched to a regular one and the problem persists.

I have changed the power settings to performance, decreased when the CPU gets maximum power to 15%, but nothing seems to be helping, it is starting to be a bit frustrating, as I am running out of ideas.

Also NVIDIA drivers are installed to the latest, the PC runs with 2 monitors that are G-sync enabled.

    :)

  2. random restarts

    Hi,

If a Windows computer random restarts, the device usually have some damaged system components. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • What changes have you made to the device before this issue occurred?
    • What troubleshooting steps was already performed to your laptop?

In the meantime, it will be best to make sure that the latest update of Windows is installed on your device. If the same issue happens after installing Windows Update, we suggest running the power troubleshooter. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Open the Control Panel.
    • Using the search bar at the upper-right corner, type troubleshooting.
    • From the search results, click on Troubleshooting and then select System and Security.
    • Click on Power and then follow the prompts to successfully run the tool.

We are looking forward to your response.

when you start the computer up press F8 repeatedly until you get a list of how to start windows, choose do not automatically restart on system failure. if your getting bsod's list what your getting here so we can further help you. IF the system is not getting bsod's and still restarting as you say then i would look into getting a line conditioner for your computer as you might be having power issues.
