As for the booting issues following the bios flash. I have found stable configurations for 4.5MHz @1.350v and 4.4MHz @1.300v. I reset the bios by clearing cmos. I also discovered something odd when testing the configurations with 3DMark. I got significantly higher FPS scores for 4.4MHz on one of the GPU tests compared to 4.5MHz.

You can't revert but you can flash to an older level. DO you know what level you had? Looks like F21, F22b and F22d are available.

  3. I had F7f and I flashed to F22f. People are reporting issues with bios's post F20 generally. There is a way around but you have to edit your hex Mac address, which sounds way too complicated for me.

    Downgrade Bios

Lots of folk have managed to revert to bios iteration pre-the F20 (can't revert bios).

Were you able to do this? Thread you pointed to looks sketchy to me. Seems like editing the MAC address would be easier. Do you have alink to how that is supposed to be done? I'd like to look at it.

Also, what MAC address? Ethernet, WiFi?

There were a total of 7 misbehaving drivers: (hardware and software drivers)
    These were additional misbehaving drivers:
    1) atc.sys (BitDefender Active Threat Control Filesystem Minifilter)
    2) bdfwfpf.sys (BitDefender Firewall WFP Filter Driver)
    3) ignis.sys (Bitdefender IGNIS filter driver)

    1) Uninstall Bitdefender:
    Uninstall Bitdefender
    2) Turn on Windows defender
    3) Please wait approximately 2 weeks to reinstall Bitdefender. If there is a new BSOD then uninstall and find an alternative AV product. If there are no BSOD then you can continue using Bitdefender

  6. Thanks zbook, I shall start with bitdefender, and work my way down. Some of the controller drivers, I suspect don't have an update (5, 6) but I shall check. Thanks again for your help. I shall report back in two weeks.

  7. Tried the killer network driver suite, it could not remove the old files. Tried uninstalling from settings but both drivers fail... So I downloaded the file from Gigabyte again. Tried removing, failed again, so I just repaired it instead (which was successful but probably did nothing...).

    Look in both areas:
    Device manager > uninstall
    Control panel > uninstall

  9. Yep, uninstalled from device manager. However, when I tried to install the driver from the Rivet site you linked, it came up with no device detected. So I had to repair with the Gigabyte killer driver and restart.

So got Windows defender running and uninstalled Bitdefender (hopefully that was the big cause of bsods)
    Updated the asmedia driver.
    Repaired the killer driver.

Will report back in a couple of weeks and hopefully close the thread. Thanks again zbook (I love this site!).

  10. Thanks for all the support, marked as solved. Not sure what did it, but zbook's & others guides seem to have resolved the problem. BTW I had a flickering issue whilst browsing since the Windows 10 Creators update. Adding a wee bit of juice to the OC seems to have sorted it.
