    Random Machine Check Exception BSOD


    When I booted up my PC for the first time (after installing Windows 10) I downloaded the software I had on my old PC, as well as FireFox.

    Everything was fine until I got my first crash. My PC randomly froze and after around 10-15 seconds I was given a Machine Check Exception BSOD screen. This happened only after around 30 minutes of the PC running. It randomly happens with no heads up. I have lost a lot of unsaved data to this crash (My PC crashes while im doing something and I didn't have time to save it).

    I figured that my terrible cable management was the problem so I fixed it up and this seemed to fix it.

    I haven't had this problem in 3 months, but now it has returned. I think my outdated graphics drivers have to do with it, since I have made sure windows was updated and there are no problems with my hardware, cooling (fans), or cable management that I could find.

    I cannot install new graphics drivers because Intel Support Assistant, my driver updater, keeps giving me an error which reads "This operating system is not supported", even though I have never had this problem while updating my drivers using the software until now.

    I use this software because I have an Intel processor, an i5 9600k. I use the 64-bit Home version of Windows 10

    What can I do?

    Win10 BSOD Machine Check Exception

    Hey everyone, so recently I started getting a lot of Machine Check Exception bluescreens and Im not sure what the cause is. Is there a list of steps to figure out what is causing it?

    BSOD Machine Check Exception

    Hey all,

    I've gotten this error a few times now and I'm not exactly sure what's going on as I've changed nothing on my system in a very long time but it has decided that it is time to BSOD me again *Frown Random Machine Check Exception BSOD :(

    I've got the memory dump file but it's 419 mb (is it supposed to be that big?) so uploading it is not practical. Any suggestions on something I can download to decode this for me? I wish I had the foresight to take a picture of it but it restarts the computer too fast for me to think of such an idea.

    oh and btw: it occurs at random times. When I'm gaming, when I'm simply enjoying some pandora, when I'm playing solitaire. So it's not a load related issue.

    Just upgraded to W10 from 8.1 and I'm getting apparently random Freezes without BSOD and sometimes BSOD Machine Check Exception.

    The problem already happened 3-4 times on Windows 8.1. Somehow I thought it could be related to CPU temp, so I opened up the case and cleaned it. No significant dirt found...

    I also read somewhere that it could be related to using the laptop with the battery. So, I removed the battery and it seams to be fine for a while.

    Any thoughts?
