Windows 10: Random restarts while gaming

Hey everyone, I've been having issues with my computer lately while playing Ark survival evolved. First the game gets stuck, as in the sound bit keeps repeating, the screen either goes black or gets stuck on one fragmented frame, and eventually my PC just reboots itself. So far it's happened a few times, but I only have a dump file of the last time. The dump file points to Rainmeter being the cause, but I doubt that, as I've had it installed since I got the pc and it's never caused any issues, and I clocked 20 hours on this game without it crashing. The crashes started this weekend, when I'm playing more than 3 hours continuously. While playing 1 - 2/.5 hours at a time during the last few weeks it didn't crash at all. I've had this problem before with a few games (see this thread) and that was resolved by running driver verifier. The only thing that has changed since then is that I installed an extra case fan (already checked the connection), no new programs or anything. I'm thinking that the CPU is overheating and causing the pc to restart itself, since most games it happens on have procedural terrain generation, and the CPU only has the stock fan installed, but I'm no tech, so its a shot in the dark. I haven't done anything yet so far, but I did run Cinebench last week, and it didn't crash at 100% CPU usage. Hardware failure or system instability can cause the computer to
randomly restarts. As our initial troubleshooting step, we suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter on your computer and check if it fixes the issue. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows key.
• Type Troubleshoot.
• Under Find and fix other problems look for
  Power.
• Then Run the troubleshooter.

when you start the computer up press F8 repeatedly until you get a list of how to start windows, choose do not automatically restart on system failure. if your getting bsod's list what your getting here so we can further help you. IF the system is not getting bsod's and still restarting as you say then i would look into getting a line conditioner for your computer as you might be having power issues.
