  1. Random shut down running SQL server

I have a computer that just sits and runs a SQL server for Credit Cards. This machine has been running since 2014 with no problems. I noticed in the beginning of the month that the machine was shutting down and I would have to restart the database gui. I seen that my intel 218 nic was having issues so I updated that to 2020 drivers and all other drivers I could.

After chasing a ghost I did a backup of the SQL data base and tested the hardware to make sure everything is ok. I did a fresh install of windows 10 and now the ghost is back. any ideas here is dump.

    Help me understand SQL Server

While trying to understand intermittent freezes in my Windows 10 that require hard reboots to recover from I was looking at my event viewer trying to find the culprit. Although I have not yet narrowed down the problem (there are several different errors) I came across several events related to SQL Server "insufficient system memory in resource pool 'internal' to run this query". I'm running a quad core i5 machine with 8 gb of ram. Looking at my list of installed programs I notice that I have the following:

    SQL Server 2005 Compact Edition
SQL Server 2008 Setup Support Files
    SQL Server 2012 Native Client
    SQL Server 2014 Setup
    SQL Server 2014
    SQL Transact SQL Scriptdom
SQL Server Browser for SQL Server 2014

I've tried to read about exactly what SQL Server is and it's as clear as mud to me. Can someone help me understand what it is? Do I need to have all those versions installed? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

  4. Random shut down running SQL server

    SQL Server

I recently upgraded to Windows 10. Prior to the upgrade, I had Windows 8. Sometimes the Microsoft SQL Server would stop running and I was able to find find the SQL server tools and start it running again. I cannot find the tool on Windows 10 and am having
issues with opening my CRM. Any suggestions?
