    Random Unprompted Restarts/Shutdowns

    Hi there,

I've been having some issues that I'm not sure come from a hardware or software problem.

For a few months now, my PC either triggers an instant reboot or shutdown, while I'm gaming or watching movies.

Today I managed to stop the restart because I had some Excel sheets unsaved and Win prompted me to either close all or cancel. Hit the cancel button and it stopped. If I didn't have that, I know how it would've gone.

In the event logs all I see are the following:

I want to mention that this is a fresh install, previous reinstallations did not fix the issue. Sometimes it happens on netflix, but most of the time while gaming Path of Exile Doesn't happen in any other game.

I tried using a different GPU, same problem, tried different PSU, same problem.

If I just use Word/browse/play any other game, leave the PC on for 10 days in a row... this reboot issue doesn't occur.

    My PC specs:

    Ryzen 2600x

    Gtx 970

    Samsung Evo SSd

    Intel SSd

    Vengeance LPX 16gb ram

    MSI Gaming Plus Mobo x470

Any thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  3. random restarts

    Hi,

If a Windows computer random restarts, the device usually have some damaged system components. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

    • Which build, version and edition of Windows is installed on your computer?
    • What changes have you made to the device before this issue occurred?
    • What troubleshooting steps was already performed to your laptop?

In the meantime, it will be best to make sure that the latest update of Windows is installed on your device. If the same issue happens after installing Windows Update, we suggest running the power troubleshooter. To do so, follow these steps:

    • Open the Control Panel.
    • Using the search bar at the upper-right corner, type troubleshooting.
    • From the search results, click on Troubleshooting and then select System and Security.
    • Click on Power and then follow the prompts to successfully run the tool.

We are looking forward to your response.

Windows 10 Stuck on Repair, getting random shutdown.

We just want to verify a few things about the issue you're having with the issue that's going on on your PC. Please provide answers to the questions below:

    • Can you tell us what were the troubleshooting steps that you have done so far?
    • About the random shutdown, is this concern happening prior to the update?

    We'll wait for your reply.
