    Randomly getting "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file"


    Setup:
    - Windows 10

    - I reboot in order to start fresh and I play a playlist composed on JPG files in Windows Media Player

    - I get the error "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file", sometimes on the 3rd file, sometimes on 12th files, sometimes on first file (always different)

    - 4GB of ram is free (or more)

    - I monitored Memory, pages faults, CPU, ... and nothing runs out of ressources

    - Disk is not fragmented (new disks)

    - Terabytes of free disk space

    - Tried on 5 Different disks including a brand new SSD
    - Tried with hundreds of JPG images from different recording sources (all new devices)

    - Tried with different video cards

    - Tried with different PCs

    - I uninstalled and reinstalled Windows Media Player

    - I tried with VLC, same behaviour: pictures skipping

    - I tried uninstalling codecs, reinstalling VLC with its CODECs

    - I tried various CODEC packs

    - I tried to analyze the VLC error logs: no success

    - I search google and microsoft.com thoroughly for answers

    Anyone has similar difficulties playing list of JPG images?

    Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file

    On my media player, I insert a SD card and the media player don't read it and it appear a problem on the media player.

    Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file

    I used to watch video clips on my laptop. Suddenly, when I tried to play a video clip I get the message "Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file". I followed recommendations from Microsoft's web page and tried to remove the programme
    but it does not show on the "remove/change programmes". I tried to install Windows Media Player but a message reads that "Windows Media Player is not compatible with your system". I am not a tech person but can some one please help me with basic step by step
    information?
