Windows 10: Razer Synapse software prevents windows 10 from sleeping, still

My old thread is locked so I couldn't refresh it but this is still happening so I wanted to post this information anew.


Every once in awhile the device preventing the monitor from sleeping is re-enabled somehow and must be disabled again.


I usually have forgetting about this when it happens and waste an hour or more of troubleshooting before I remember to go check for this.


This was Razers response back in Aug of 2015.

"This happens due to a compatibility issues between Joystick devices and Windows 10. To avoid this please disable the game controller device under Device Manager >> Human Interface Device >> HID-compliant Game Controller. However, do note that when you disable the game controller, you might lose virtual joystick related features in Synapse."


… and since the thumb stick of the game pads is almost always remapped to the standard movement keys WSAD, this doesn't cause any loss of functionality.


On windows 10 first you have to find the old control panel (type control in the search box if you haven't already pinned it to the start menu) then open the device manager.

I've been trouble shooting this for awhile now. I completely reinstalled the OS and I am manually creating restore points before each small set of updates or software installations.

Razer Synapse, which updates itself automatically, prevents the display from powering down as well as preventing the PC form going into sleep mode.

 

RAZER synapse won't update

Iv upgraded to windows 10 and since doing so my headsets don't work (razer & Microsoft) and I run the update for razer synapse for windows 10 and it just stops part way through! driving me crazy!!

 

Razer Synapse not working on my desktop

Hello,

I got a Razer Naga chroma mouse " biggest mistake ever" and i proceed to download the driver on my gaming desktop and its not working, I can see the razer synapse in the bottom right , when i right click it and press open nothing happens.

I contacted support" and they dont know what they are doing, they are just asking me to uninstal and reinstal synapse, then unsital frame work and reinstall etc etc... and ive done everything and nothing is working..

I decided to give the synapse a try on my laptop, and weirdly enough it worked fine.

both laptop and desktop have the same OS "win 10 64 bits ,but i have no idea why it works fine on my laptop and not the desktop.

Anything anyone can do to help me? advise,recommend? im open to any suggestion
