Windows 10: RE: An earlier issue I posted that is now locked.

Just before I had to move homes, I found a resolution to this issue. Now that I'm all settled, I wanted to bring an update to the situation, but the old discussion is locked and I can't edit the post with the fix below. I'm hoping an administrator can edit in the fix to my original post in hopes that if someone goes searching like I did, they can see what fixed it for me and try to see if the same applies to them.


Problem was Microsoft Store failing to connect via autoupdate for some core apps redistributables or something. Manually going in and starting the updates fixed it.

Lock screen issue

  Go to Settings>>Personalization>>Lock Screen.
  
• 
  In the right panel, select Picture instead of Windows Spotlight.

Lock Screen Image Issue

I would suggest you to set the default pictures as the Lock Screen picture from the PC and check if it works or not.

Follow the steps below:

• In start type "settings" and press enter.
• Select Personalize
• From the left click on "Lock screen"
• Select the default picture and conform by preview.

Setting the timeout for Lock Screen

• Press Windows + I and select personalization.
  
• Select Lock screen.
  
  
• Select the Screen Timeout setting.
  
• Select the time of timeout you need and check.
