Windows 10: Re- Gaming App from facebook- called Gameroom

Hi There my name is Jamie Bratcher and I have an hp-15 inch notebook laptop that has windows 10 on it - I just updated to the new update for October - and now I am having issues with a game app I use thru facebook to play all of my games - game app is called game room -Before the update I never had a problem using it - now when I go and down load it my laptop is saying it can not verify the validaty of the downloaded file on the laptop ? its never done that before - can someone please help me with this situation

I tried what you suggested. Here is the situation as it stands now: On File Explorer I had a couple of FacebookGameroom.exe files and I right clicked one of them, selected TROUBLESHOOT COMPATIBILITY and ran it using the settings for Windows 8 (no, Win 10
wasn't on the list of OSs). Up popped a windows showing it was installing. When that was finished I brought up the start menu and there was the program. The big problem was that, on clicking, it did not open. I then right clicked the entry, selected RUN
AS ADMINISTRATOR, nothing doing either. On a hunch, I opened CONTROL PANEL, selected PROGRAMS & FEATURES and surprise, Facebook Gameroom wasn't on the list!! ???: Why would Facebook Gameroom have shown up on the START MENU but be missing on the program list,
when it was there before all this started happening? What other options are there?

Hi Peter,

It seems the Facebook Gameroom app is having a compatibility issue with Windows 10 1709. In the meantime, we suggest running the
Program Compatibility Troubleshooter to make older programs compatible with this version of Windows.
