    Hello, I purchased a new hp probook 4730s some time ago, it had windows 10 pre installed, but i did not like the format, so i had a new windows 7 pro insalled on a new 250 gb ssd clean install i did not retain the original win 10 hard drive.

    now the support for win 7 has stopped, i have no option other than to upgrade my ssd drive with win 10.

    How do i download win 10 to my laptop over win 7 without losing my programmes and files?

    there seems to be access offered via windows download pages on the internet, to over write win 7. can you confirm this is ok and safe as i do not want to lose the existing HD contents.

    Hey Dj Urko, I am trying to install the realtek driver and I get the error 0x0001. I have disabled secure boot and Driver signature. I have the latest win 10 build. What am I doing wrong? Can u post the complete list of steps that I have to take? I have an asus z170 with alc1150.

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
