Windows 10: Re-installing Windows 10

I am trying to re-install Windows 10 from a flash drive. The process got through the keyboard setup and "Setting up Devices" phases. And then, in due course, the following screen opened:



"Something went wrong".

"You can try again, or skip for now."



"OOBEREGION"



Try Again Skip



I went through these options a zillion times



The "Try again" option displays the “Just a moment…” message seemingly for ever and ends up again at the "Something went wrong" screen.



The Skip option sometimes does exactly the same as “Try again”



But other times it goes through the location and keyboard setup screens again and then interminable “Just a moment…” messages before ending up again at the "Something went wrong" screen.



And once it got to the "Let's connect you to a network" screen. But that didn’t do anything. Didn’t react to the mouse and eventually cancelled itself and went back to the “Just a moment…..” thing.



Once it seemed to reboot and the Windows splash screen appeared, complete with the recycle bin icon in the top left corner. However, after a minute or so, the screen went blank again, to be replaced by – (you guessed it!) “Just a moment…..”



Twice I got a screen that told me: ”We are having a problem ….. We can resolve it with an update - either set up wifi or plug in an ethernet cable and the update will happen.



I plugged in an ethernet cable and clicked on Next, after which things started off again with Cortana and the location and keyboard screens and then went back into the same old routine.



It seems clear to me that I need to start again from the beginning. However, this install program is tenacious and won’t let me. I cannot find a way to abort it. It doesn’t react to any combination of keyboard keys. If I reboot using the power button, it just starts up again apparently from where it left off. I even went into the bios and disabled all the boot options except the flash drive. I hoped that it would then boot into the Windows install program on the flash drive and start again. However, when it booted it looked like that might be working, but then things went back to the “Just a moment…” message and back into the same old routine.


Help!

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
