  2. Strange, not sure why my system rejected fancy quotes while yours didn't. Maybe because my computer is set to Canadian English? I don't think there is such a thing though.

Could be. I notice folks may sometimes have issues with commands from US English on another language.

Unfortunately, even after some fantastic patches, Windows Store is completely broken in pieces.

It won't download anything, apps are crashing, the Store app crashes when you open the app download page after watching about 2 minutes of the blue swirl, etc.

So yeah, even after doing some Powershell stuff and WSReset, it's still doing the same thing to me.

    Try going to C:\Users\[ACCOUNTNAME]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.WindowsStore_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

Delete all folders inside LocalCache and try again.

    Hello Everyone,

My Command prompt - powershell almost completes. It looks like my computer does not want me to use "Apostrophes". Any help is appreciated. Running WSReset.exe opens the store I am still trying to re-register.
Can anyone explain hot to cut and paste in command prompt? Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v does not work for me.

I added a downloadable .bat file option to the tutorial to help. *Smile

Re-register Store app in Windows 10

    Hi Brink,
I downloaded the .bat file, right clicked on the file in my downloads folder. Checked properties GENERAL TAB there was no "unblock" box to check. Double clicked on the .bat file. Powershell opened it ran something with blue and yellow colors (which did not take long). Then it stated C:\Users\david_000\Downloads > pause Press any key to continue.

When I press any key Powershell closes. Does this sound correct? I might need to use my Administrator account to do this, the download asked for my Admin password to complete the download.

    Hey David,

That's how it's suppose to work. It can be ran in any account that you need to re-register the Store in. I just added the pause in the .bat file to be able see what it did. *Smile

I do not want to confuse anyone DO NOT USE ANYTHING below. This is FYI to Brink. (Thanks 4 .bat file)

A Microsoft employee told me to run the following in Command Prompt (Admin).

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML

    And here is the result.

David, the command in the tutorial basically runs the same command you posted, but using a different method that works. *Smile

Getting the screenshot above when trying to recover the store app. I don't have a windows store folder in the C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Packages directory.

    Also, when I run
    Get-Appxpackage -Allusers

    I don't get a windows store entry.

My Windows Store is located at C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Packages directory

FYI if you save screen shots as a PNG file they turn out much clearer. See my image 2 posts above. It is hard to see your JPEG image.

OK someone more qualified than me will assist soon. What I see in your image is the " = " symbol is not recognized. There is a problem with your command input. I don't know the correct command for this item. Brink will know how to help.

PS It also helps to crop the bottom off of an image like yours, bottom is empty blue screen. Smaller size equals better resolution.
