Windows 10: ReActivate Flight simulator X on new computer

I am having no success reactivating this on a new computer. the previous installation and activation was about 4 computers back. I have installed from the original disk set, but the program wont run. When I troubleshoot I find that I have to reactivate. The instructions on the links of error message informs me that this can be done but gives no instructions on how to do it. Is there a procedure or should I bin the whole exercise. I know it's an ancient program, but i still have a sentimental attachment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We're more than happy to help. Here are steps on how to resolve compatibility issues with Flight Simulator X:

1. Open the folder C:\program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

2. Right click on the FSX executable icon.

3. Click Properties.

4. On the Compatibility tab, click to check "Run this program in the compatibility mode for".

5. Click OK.

6. Start the game again and try to activate.

If the issue continues to occur, make sure you have both Service Pack 1 and Service Pack 2 for Flight Simulator X. To download the latest Service Pack, visit the following web site: http://www.microsoft.com/Products/Games/FSInsider/downloads/Pages/default.aspx

Note that if you have Flight Simulator Expansion Pack its already includes both Service pack 1 and 2.
