Windows 10: Reactivate windows

So I have just replaced my motherboard and CPU, and I now have to reactivate windows. My windows 10 comes from my old windows 7 key. For some reason it says I have windows 10 pro installed, but my windows 7 key is home edition so it does not seem to work. From what I understand the winows10 upgrade key is linked to the motherboard, so I have no way of retrieving the key from files. How can I reactivate windows when the only key I have is a win7 home? Before I changed hardware there was a Windows update that made it so that I had to reactivate windows. Then I could just log in with my Microsoft account, and it reactivated it for me. That does not work now. Is there a way to mabye downgrade from pro to home? And then I can just use my old win 7 key? I have a metered connection so if I have to reinstall windows, that would be a problem. If that is the only way, I just have to find a way I guess. I don't need the pro version, so I am not sure why nor how I have that version.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

He is using AMD already. He wants downgrading to AM3. Don't know why??

If you change HDD + RAM simultaneously, Windows 7 needs to be reactivated. Only HDD cloning shouldn't require reactivation. As you are changing mobo + HDD (prehaps RAM upgrade too), you will surely require reactivation. If you have genuine license, you should reinstall OS (you might use Windows Easy Transfer). If you don't want to reinstall, you need to uninstall HDD, interfaces/system devices, and numerous other drivers (USB, HID, Portable devices, etc.), else your OS will be unstable.
I will highly recommend to reinstall Windows 7 and enjoy your migration.

A simple trick might be like this to avoid reactivation:
1. Clone your HDD first and boot into Windows
2. Use it for at least one week
3. Replace mobo only without any other hardware change/upgrade and boot
4. Use it for at least one week
5. Do any other upgrade (RAM, Graphic card etc.)

Don't do two simultaneous downgrades/upgrades to avoid reactivation.
