  1. ReadyBoost using SDHC Flash Card doesn't work

I have a computer with Windows 10, 64 bits. I want to use ReadyBoost using SDHC Flash Card. The separator of Ready Boost informs me that the Card is read only , and that is not the case, or BitLocker is preventing teh access, but I don't have BitLocker installed...

What can I do to solve this?

    :)

  2. Readyboost option for SD Card on Windows 10

    Hi David,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that the Readyboost option for the SD card on Windows 10 is not available. I will certainly help you.

ReadyBoost is a Windows feature to increase random read access speed to the hard drive, that can speed up your computer. Make sure these requirements are met to use Readyboost feature.

    Software Requirements:

To use ReadyBoost in Windows 10 make sure that SuperFetch service is enabled. ReadyBoost won't work if the SuperFetch service is stopped or disabled.

    Hardware Requirements:

To use Ready Boost you need a USB flash drive or flash memory card with the following capabilities:

    • 1-32 GB of free space.
    • Data transfer rate of at least 3.5 Mbit/s.
    • USB 2.0 support (or higher).
Some SD card does not support Ready boost, this might be the reason you are facing the issue. However, I suggest you try formatting the SD card in
NTFS option and check if this helps. Here's how:

    • Connect the SD card to the computer and right click on it.
    • Select format and set the file system to NTFS (default).
    • Now select click on Start to format the SD Card.
While formatting the select the option NTFS instead FAT32 and copy the file again and try performing Ready boost.

Hope this helps. Keep posting us with the status we will be glad to help you.

    Thank you.

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

    Thanks again!!

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

I ran SeaTools. These are the results:

    Readyboost

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I will assist you with this.

ReadyBoost can speed up your computer by using storage space on most USB flash drives and flash memory cards.

ReadyBoost uses the Superfetch service that should be enabled and set to "Running" and "Automatic".

For ReadyBoost to effectively speed up your computer, the flash drive or memory card should have at least 1 gigabyte (GB) of available space. If your drive or card doesn't have enough available space for ReadyBoost , you'll see a message telling you to free
some space on it. For best results, use a flash drive or flash memory card with at least double the amount of available space as the amount of memory (RAM) in your computer.

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

    1. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your computer.

    2. In the AutoPlay dialog box, choose Speed Up My System.

    3. The flash drive’s Properties dialog box appears with the
    ReadyBoost tab upfront.

    4. Click on ReadyBoost tab.

    5. Choose the Use This Device option.

    6. Click OK.

Hope this information was helpful and do let us know if you need further assistance. We will be glad to assist.
