Windows 10: Realtek cardreader not detecting SD card after Windows 11 23H2 upgrade

After upgrading from Windows 21H2 to 23H2 , I am getting these error and warning in event viewer administrative eventsevent ID 131 , error , Metadata staging failed, result=0x80070490 for container '{A2942204-A62D-11EE-AC53-806E6F6E6963}'event ID 201 , warning , A connection to the Windows Metadata and Internet Services WMIS could not be established.The source for the above events is DeviceSetUpManager Incidentally , SD card can only be detected when Realtek card reader is disabled , the re-enabled or re-installing driver , after ejecting SD card, need to repeat the mentioned process to d

Realtek SD CardReader not working on windows 10

I can see the "Realtek PCIE CardReader" in the Device Manager list, yes. Running without any error or problems. But the strange thing is that the memory card slot used to work just fine, and nothing has happened to the PC before it suddenly stopped working
from one day to the next. I mean i haven't dropped it on the floor or any other physical impact.

i have a Sony laptop (model SVP132A1CM). I ran a hardware troubleshoot and it says i have an error with the Realtek PCIE CardReader. Is this related to the SD card reader slot? I’ve never used it before and now I’m trying to read an SD card ive stored some
photos on. The SD card doesn’t show up at all in the File Explorer. I can only see the local C drive in ‘This PC’. Can someone please tell me if I’m right in assuming this RealTek PCIE error is related to why it’s not picking up the SD card at all, as I’m
assuming. I also saw in the device manager that the driver for this PCIE card reader has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Can someone please give me some guidance? Thank you.

CardReader is listed in device manager, but I can not find a way to use it. Is there a setting I need to change to make windows automatically detect new devices, hardware etc.?
