Windows 10: Realtek HD Audio Driver "Not Plugged In"

Hello,

I have spent many days trying to fix this problem but have still not solved it.

Basically I want to set headphones as my default output instead of speakers but when I open up the sound settings there is no option for headphones. (I have not disabled or disconnected it).

I have updated, uninstalled and reinstalled all my sound drivers and it still is not working, so I went to re-install the realtek HD audio manager but when running the installation it states "No Driver was supported in this driver package" I have also tried this with an earlier version and get the same error.

In addition to all this I cannot get my microphone working but i am assuming this is related to this issue. I have attached images below of all the details needed. In the sound settings it tells me that the realtek digital output is not plugged in but this is not an external sound card? I really need some help on this all my PC details are also attached in the images. In the microphone section I am unable to open a Nahimic audio user interface. The first picture are the messages that come up when I plug my headphones in and I always select the headphone option. No matter what i do I cannot set headphones as my default output; It is not even a selectable option currently! Not sure what else to include but hopefully this will be enough!

Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version [2]

I just built a new rig with a ASRock X470 Taichi motherboard and Win 10 64bit 1903. I downloaded the driver from my motherboard's site (Realtek high definition audio driver ver:8668_UAD_WHQL_DTS) and then ran the powershell script to detect the driver type.

Since I couldn't get more than 1 output, I also tried the latest driver in the 1st post (HDA DRIVER VERSION: 6.0.8716.1).

No matter what is plugged in, I only have 1 playback/output device.

• I plug my speakers into rear panel = audio plays out the speakers and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)
• I plug my headphones into front panel = audio plays out my headphones and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)
• I plug my headphones into front panel and speakers into rear panel = audio plays out of front panel and listed as Speakers (Realtek Audio)

I used to be able to switch between front and rear when both were plugged in. Anyone have any suggestions?

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.

Everyone that post ids, need just do these steps and you will be good. I kinda tired of keep on uploading the inf. file

additional if you want dts audio and others, install it now before next step.
After it is done, restart the PC
