Windows 10: Realtek HD Driver missing

Hi. I own a Lenovo Yoga 80-VF laptop that uses Windows 10 Home build 18362.


I had the keyboard replaced due to liquid damage, and now I'm having a serious issue with my audio. Not only can I not play audio through the speakers, I can't even play audio with headphones plugged in.


I checked Device Manager, and the Realtek HD Audio driver that came with the laptop is missing. I tried to add legacy hardware, but when I did it caused a BSOD. I need help.


PS. The legacy hardware I tried to add was Realtek HD Audio (SST), and I tried to add it without a disk.

For those who want 1) only Realtek HD audio drivers in their result list and 2) no missing previous (and possibly future) drivers, such as 7982, may I suggest to use this link instead ?

MS may change the category name, Realtek may even change their company name, who knows, but they won't change their vendor code. It's the only thing that's defined by technical specification.

I had the realtek error when using the installer, so I did these step and It Worked

1.Go Open up device manager
2. Go under sound,video, and game controllers
3. Find Realtek High Definition Audio
4. Right click and hit update driver
5. Browse my computer for driver software
6. Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
7. Click Have Disk and hit browse
8. Click on the Realtek HD Audio mod folder and look for win64
9. Click on the HDXRT4 and click ok,
10. Click Next and Yes
After it is done, restart the PC

You should be good then and also make sure before doing these steps that you have driver enforcement disabled.
