    Realtek loud noise

    Hello,

I have Realtek Microphone in Recording settings of sound and Realtek Digital Output in Playback.

I did not make any updates for my Windows 10 64-bit for last few weeks or changes in settings, and this problem stats when I start my computer today.

I tried to use Skype, but it turned out that my microphone stopped working, my voice is not heard. Then I tried to record voice with sound forge and same here, it should be noted that I do not get just an empty track with zero sound, record just does not happen. It is different things. But most horrible thing I got now is a very loud noise which almost hurts your ears. Noise occurs if I'm trying record something, answer to the skype, and also I got some low clicking sound of very loud short sound each time I'm trying to on video or audio, or switch it with timeline.

I've updated all drivers in Device Manager:

    Microphone (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Realtek Digital Output (Realtek High Definition Audio)
    Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Stereo Mix (Realtek High Definition Audio)

and it says the best driver software for your device is already installed.

So I have no idea what to do. Can't get if it is system problem or something wrong with hardware.

    :)

  2. Microphone making constant static/buzz noise after update to windows 10

I have a motherboard Gigabyte GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI and I uninstalled Realtek HD Audio. Then I installed Windows HD Audio. Always I can hear speakers but microphone do not work. I used Skype audio test and the sound is only noise and loud.

    Regards

Asus Realtek Issues realtek drivers which results in a kind of beep noise

So I've managed to try but it doesn't work as suspected.

Doing some testing I've found another issue, this time with the windows drivers.

As soon as I install the windows drivers the headphones work fine.

however, when I turn off the pc and restart there is a loud noise ( like interference) coming through the headphones while the speakers are fine and I am not sure why I get this.

So basically I have to choose between realtek pop noise or no headphones.

any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks

Do you have "digital" speakers or just the standard computer speakers? I suspect just standard speakers (using the Green speaker connection) so "Speakers" should be set as the default playback device. In the recording settings, either the microphone or better yet "Stereo Mix" should be set as default Recording device.

Get the settings properly set and then see what happens.

    Hello,
this is laptop with own speakers inside so I did not use nothing external. in the settings speakers are default device for playback . in recording I tried both microphone which was all this time and work proper until now, and now also I tried stereo mix, but I got same result with both. So I'm afraid about, if it can be hardware problem. Sometimes loud high frequency noise starts without any action with audio, then only thing which can stop it, is a turning off everything from sound setting. it occurs with stereo mix, with microphone and with speaker. Very strange, but it was recorded when I tried record microphone, which is also inside laptop (not external device). And record occurs only with headphones inserted to the computer, otherwise I have two results empty track with silence or zero-empty track without any recording, and I'm not sure what is the reasons of each case. So here is the noise recorded when I insert headphones to laptop and press to record, but it is same noise I describe above, please be careful with ears it is disturbing, first download then listen to stop it timely Sound 1.wav

In Microphone options, disable the "Listen this device" entry. Otherwise, an acoustic feedback appears: Audio feedback - Wikipedia

it is already disabled, nothing changes. So I've tried check box just to see what happens, and only difference, if it is checked, record does not occurs, otherwise I got recording only of this noise, but it is also only in case if headphones are plugged

Try to boot Ubuntu from dvd/flash. If sound codec will not work, then it may be a hardware failure; otherwise (after rebooting to Windows) uninstall all Realtek software from Programs and features, reboot, system should install generic sound drivers itself. If they work, try to reinstall Realtek drivers.

Edit: After listening and analyzing your sound sample, I suspect some parasitic signal penetrating into your sound subsystem - there are two primary frequencies: 266Hz and 4533Hz (multiplier is 17). Please check that your input jack connector isn't dirty or damaged, preferably using analog headset. Also check and clean inside of your laptop if possible.

Furthermore, Realtek codec driver has three sliders in microphone settings: Recording volume, Playback volume and Microphone boost (translated). The last is hidden under button. Make sure they are not set to Maximum.

Hello. I don't know what to say, all I did does not helped, but today noise gone itself, soundforge, audacity and all audio tools, players works again as usual, low clicks also gone. I wrote question also to asus technical support but they did not answered me yet. So that nothing was applied to help except actions which does not helped, but problem is gone.

But now I got another strange thing, sometimes mouse dialog open by itself...

Anyway thank you for your help and research

    Great analysis
