  1. Reason for Service Host Network: Delivery Optimization

I recently bought a new computer and immediately noticed that the fan was running high and that it was somewhat slow for the tasks I was doing. I saw on task manager that "Service Host Network: Delivery Optimization" was using 25% to 30% of my CPU. I googled what this task is and apparently it uses other computers on the network to search for updates.

I tried to shut it down from Windows settings, and surprisingly t kept running even when "off", I solved it following a tutorial from other website that required manually editing the registry.

Now, the point of my thread: Why on earth would Windows think that I want to spend al my CPU power on looking for updates and why did they make it so hard to turn off?

    :)

  2. Service Host: Network Service -Delivery Optimization hogging network

Currently Service Host: Network Service -Delivery Optimization is hogging the network. Therefore nothing else can download at the right speed. For example I am using the xbox (beta) app to install Gears 5 but it is barely able to achieve a reading so downloads
very slowly while sayin 0mb/s and intermittently stating 2-3mb/s.

I have tried disabling and stopping Service Host: Network Service and Delivery Optimization, this either does nothing and everything still downloads slow or it forces shut down (as expected).

I have also tried limti8ng in advanced options to 5% etc but still no change.

Also turned off backround updates in the store.

Any ideas how to stop it from hogging the network and allow other apps to actually use the network?

  3. Service Host: Delivery Optimization

    Hello!

There's this service host called delivery optimization and it's really sucking up all of my network, and I have been really impatient with it in the last few days. Can I stop the service? How? And are there consequences if I do that? Thanks.
