  1. Reboot to Update Audio Drivers

Out of nowhere this morning, I got a popup that said I need to reboot for audio drivers to be updated. No manufacturer was specified. This seemed strange. I did the following:

    1. Immediately installed Malwarebytes and Super Anti-spyware. Did deep scans. Other than tracking cookies. no problems reported.
    2. I went to device manager and checked my audio drivers. According to DM, they are fine.
    3. I deleted all the files in Downloads, and in all the Temp folders.
    4. I deleted all the files in "c:\windows\download program files"
    5. I went back to a system restore point from 2 days ago.

Other than these steps, I have not and will not reboot till all my data is backed up.

My question is this - is this a real update or potentially something very dangerous?

    :)
