Windows 10: Recall on Windows 10, creating a private alternative to recall

I've been thinking about how to create something similar to Recall but without the privacy concerns (looking at you - spy MS). The idea itself is really useful, but the priority here should be securit, privacy, user data first.

This is just a rough idea.

1. Security: Encrypting files on a disk is a must, VeraCrypt make it simple to set up.
2. Screenshots: There are tons of screenshot tools, and I’m wondering if one can be set to capture shots every few seconds. Maybe Sharex could be a good fit for this? Anyone used it for this purpose?
3. The biggest challenge is finding a tool that can handle OCR and then categorize and organize the data.
   • OneNote does this well (I know, it’s Microsoft again, but you can setup ON to keep data locally, and it doesn’t send notes to S.Nadella After uploading an image, ON can scan, perform OCR, and let you search by phrases. Need to find a way for it to automatically pull images from a specific folder.
   • I don’t know any other program that does the same thing as easily. I've heard obsidian could be configured to do it but it requires plugins and extra steps.
   • The ideal fix would be writing something from scratch in Python. It’s a bit of work, but if there’s nothing else out there, it might be the best route.

Do you know of any other tools that could help?

I’m leaving AI aside for now, since local image recognition solutions aren’t mainstream yet. Sure, it’s doable, but how much computing power would that take? Would it even work efficiently in the background?
