Windows 10: Receiving "This App Can't Run on your PC" When no apps are being opened. Constant. Repeating.

Hi


I'm not sure when this started happening, but I think it had something to do with some of the indie games I've downloaded maybe. Which is ridiculous because they all run properly.


Either way, I'm receiving a constant window pop-up saying "this app can't run on your pc". I'm not sure what it's coming from, it's anybody's guess. I tried checking task manager, no weird programs are turning on. I tried checking event viewer but I couldn't make sense of where to see applications being opened. I did my best in event manager to look for stuff and I couldn't really be sure if I found anything.


How can I trace to where this weird app is trying to open itself and saying it can't be opened?


Don't tell me to reinstall windows. Don't tell me to uninstall all the things I've installed recently. This ain't linux. This is windows. I should be able to trace what app is trying to be opened and go from there. How do I do that?


It opens itself like every 10 minutes.

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Mail app will not open on 10041.

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!

I suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Run Windows app troubleshooter.

Step 2: Run shell commands for Windows store and check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Command prompt(Admin) to open elevated Command prompt.
  
• 
  Type the following commands.
  
  
  
  powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.xml
  
• 
  Hit enter, the blackscreen will appear still for a couple of seconds. After a couple of second a new line saying C:\.... will appear.
  
• 
  Close Command Prompt.
  
• 
  Try to start the Windows Store again.
