    This problem started happening after I installed Windows 10 the latest update. One day I had all of my files and documents like it was and then I decided to shut it off. The next day I woke up to my computer being reset to its original appearance with the blue windows wallpaper and the applications on the taskbar I had before were not showing up. It appears that everything I had was deleted, but some of my stuff is still on my computer they were moved into hidden files. I don't know why this is happening to my computer. How can I get all of files and documents back where I had before?

    Random shut down and restart??

    Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
    E220@2.406hz
    2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
    Windows xp

    Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused Recently I have updated to Windows 10 and when I restart or shut down my computer... some... :confused:*Mad Recently I have updated to Windows 10 and when I restart or shut down my computer... some... :mad:

    One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

    Any suggestions on how to repair my computer?

    wow, I got a lot of replies thanks for all the help I'll try all the suggestions and see what I find.
    Edit, I started in safemode then restarted and it shut down fast and started fast so it must be some software running that is causing it to do that I have windows on a M.2 and that drive is new so I don't think it has a problem now any help in finding which driver or software that this is being caused by

    I disabled GOG. Galaxy game client and steam so far my system shuts down a lot faster I'll wait and see if that did the trick after the system has been running for a while

    Yeah it's always good to shut down unnecessary task when you're done with them the problem has been in existence since the- terminate stay resident. (Win 9X-W10)
