Windows 10: Recovering/fixing install with bitlocker drive and broken/deleted boot manager

Long story short: I've been using Linux in dual boot for almost 2 years and I misspelled a grub installation command and it overwrote the Windows boot manager. So I'm searching for a way to recover my data and reinstall the windows boot manager without overwriting the Linux installation.

I've found out that the recovery and fixing is possible with a windows installation USB stick, but I just wanted to make sure it doesn't overwrite the Linux partitions.

The Linux boot loader uses a different partition than the windows one used but now both have grub

Broken window boot manager

Now, this issue might happen, if GRUB can't find its requisite files. This can have numerous issues.

In this case, we need more information about your system, especially which hard drives or solid state disks are installed in your computer and how they are connected.

Few more details we need to know are as follows:

• What do you mean when you say 'I missed a step on resetting everything'?
• On which drive you installed Ubuntu and (if you know) on which you installed the bootloader?

There is a chance that the grub installation on your hard drive is broken. In that case, you need to update/repair grub using Ubuntu live CD.

Fixed Drive Detected as Removable in Bitlocker

My system has 2 data drives in addition to the boot drive which is SSD. While windows detects both drives as fixed drives Bitlocker reports one of the drives as removable and so I cannot set it to auto-unlock. Any suggestions on how to change this behavior
and make Bitlocker report correctly?

In the tutorial section there is a tutorial or getting information from a drive. It states you will need another PC but it does walk you through the steps. You need the recovery key which you said you had.
