Recovering system settings from previous HDD

    Hi,

I installed a new 2 TB SSD onto my laptop with a clean install of Windows 10.

I need to find the best way to transfer the Windows 10 systems settings from old HDD to the new SDD drive.

I have already moved all of the data and program files over, but need to copy the system settings so that the applications and system will operate as they did before.

I have tried to use a previous backup, but I am not having any luck trying to restore onto the new drive.

How would I go about doing this?

I would hate to have to reinstall each application individually.

    :)

    Hi Johan,

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:

    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.

Update us on how it goes.

    Regards.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
